Halloween is coming up and I thought I would show you guys one more tutorial. I don't have the step by step pictures but I think anyone could pull this off.
1. Part little squares where ever you want on the head and braid them. ( We did 3 on one side and 2 on the other side)
2. With the help of THIS video slide the beads on the braids.
3. I secured the beads onto the braids by using THIS method since my DD doens't have the same hair texture as the girl in the first video.
* We used green, orange and black beads for halloween but you could do this for christmas and put green, white and red...
BE SURE TO POST YOUR HALLOWEEN PICTURES OVER HERE ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE!
Have fun!

Slide Up Braid To Uneven Braid
First of all I wanted to wish you all a happy Halloween and I HOPE WITH ALL MY HEART that you guys will post your halloween pictures over on our facebook page at Sassy's Hairstyles.
1. Slightly wet hair to make the stryling easier. Then, part a square shape on the top of her head.
2. With that square section, make a slide up braid. If you do not know how to do one, look HERE to find an awesome tutorial by mindy. Then secure it with a clear elastic.
3. Bring all the hair back into a side ponytail and secure it with a rubberband.
4. Then I ended the hairstyle by making an uneven braid. I also put a flower in her hair to add a little more glam.

A Halloween Hairstyle
So Halloween is coming up soon and i thought this would be a perfect hairstyle. This 'do kind of reminds me of a spider web but done way more simply since the school mornings have been quite buisy here. I had filmed a tutorial but I am not going to post it because my camera is not the best. The lighting on the video is so suckish that you don't even see the finished styles. So if any of you have a good camera or know how to make my tutorials less bad, PLEASE TELL ME!
We saw this hairstyle over HERE and tried it.
If you wanted this to be more of a Halloween hairtsyle you could put in green, orange and black elastics and/or put beads on the ends of the braids.
* Don't mind her silly face! We all get those faces once in while! :)
Enjoy! And I would like to thank everyone who has suscribed to this blog, everyone who follows the blog, everyone who comments. follows us on facebook and EVERYONE WHO LIKES OUR BLOG!

Side French Braid with Flair
I haven't really had the time to post this week. It has been really buisy. I was in the hospital for 2 days but I am fine now and yesterday we went to a TobyMac concert. he is a CRAZY christian singer and I really recommend his music to parents who have teenagers. On top of that we have had 3 gymnastics meet this week. I guess there is no need to say that our life is hectic at times!
With all this weeks activities I did not get the time to do a tutorial but I did want to show this to you guys.
We saw THIS braid and knew we just had to try it. I found these little twist-ins at claires but they have them everywhere these days. Even at walmart!
This is our version of this braid. I know the lighting isn't too good but my camera isn't always either so...
Her hair was driping wet when we did this but I would recommend you doing this on dry or damp hair.
Hope you like!

about hairstyles for homecoming 2011
Did you know that you can do your hair at home for homecoming in elegant styles that will look as if you just stepped out of the salon with a professional style? Through the use of a couple styling tools and techniques that are easy to learn, even you can complete the hairstyles that you want, without spending more money getting ready for the prom and homecoming celebrations.
Here are some of the ways that you can easily create a hairstyle at home, and all you have to know is how to create a simple ponytail hairstyle within the hair:
First, ensure that there is a high level of volume that has been created in the hair. This volume can come from creating curls within the hairstyle before pulling the hair back into a ponytail or ensuring that the roots have been back combed to create a high level of volume through the roots, creating the formal hairstyle that comes with Updos.
Next, pull the hair back into the ponytail, using a anti frizz serum and a comb to loosely pull any hairs that are sticking up or sticking out to create the formal appearance of the hairstyle that you want. There are many options that are available for this style, like avoiding the part altogether and pulling the hair directly back or even creating a part to one side of the head. Depending on the hairstyle that is desired, you can determine where to part the hair.
Once the ponytail has been created, there are a number of options. The pony tail can be curled or it can be twisted around itself to create a popular style. As well, the ponytail ends can be secured through the outside with pins to create a reverse bun, that can be quite stunning.

Homecoming hairstyles
Homecoming hairstyles are not a big deal for men. For homecoming, they’ll just throw on a suit and maybe spike their hair a little if it’s appropriate. But for the women? Not so lucky. As it’s a huge event, everyone works even harder to look beautiful. Homecoming is extremely significant in a woman’s life, and the hairstyle one has during this event is very important as well.
It’s the week before homecoming, and everyone is panicking over what they’re going to wear and which of the homecoming hairstyles they’ll choose. Well, let’s focus on the hair. For homecoming, people could go for a simple but stylish look, or they could focus more towards the elaborate but sophisticated and more mature hairstyle. For a simpler hairstyle, a girl might just curl her hair or perhaps straighten it, and maybe pull it back with a cute clip. Another simple style would be piling the hair onto the head, letting several tendrils of hair fall down the back, and allowing some bangs to hang over the side of the face. For a more complicated hairstyle, a girl might pull back her hair tightly, placing the hair into an elaborate do, and placing flowers and clips into the hair. There are many different 2011 homecoming hairstyles to try, and you want to make sure you get the one that suits you.
When you’re a teenager, homecoming is one of the most important events in your life. As such, you have to make sure you look your best. So what can be even more important than your hair during homecoming? Everyone styles their hair differently for homecoming, to look prettier or more sophisticated, or perhaps older if that’s what they’re aiming for. The way your hair is styled during your homecoming is extremely important, so your homecoming hairstyle is something you’ll remember forever.

Damaged to Healthy (RE-POST)
I have been getting a few questions on how I grew my hair from above neck length to the length I am at now and I usually share my regimen and offer some tips.
I was going through some old posts and came across this one which I think will be helpful to some.
Damaged to Healthy
Whether your hair is short, long, relaxed or natural..the main concern should be the health of your hair.
In my eyes, good hair means to have healthy hair so if your hair is damaged...you need to work on repairing the damage first and foremost.
Here are a few tips to get your hair healthy and keeping it healthy. One thing you have to remember is that it doesn't happen over night but after a few months you should see much improvement.
Hair strands
Cut off any dead, damaged, split ends- I prefer to cut hair when its completely straight and dry. This is where you see the true length and state of the hair
Take some time and do a search and destroy method over your whole head of hair- This is where you examine the long and short strands of your hair and cut off any split ends you see.
Wash Day(once a week or every other week)
Shampoo your Hair- by clarifying or washing your hair, you are removing any residue and products from hair. This is giving you a clean slate to start from.
Deep Condition- If you hair is extremely elastic and damaged..I suggest you start of with a protein treatment. For serious cases of Damaged hair..Aphogee has a 2 step Protein Treatment that I heard works wonders. The first step is the hard protein then the next step is the balancing moisture. Or you can whip up an egg into your favorite conditioner, apply and leave on hair for 15-20 minutes and follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner. If your hair is just really dry, then do a moisturizing deep conditioning treatment.
Always apply a Leave-in Conditioner- This is to ensure your hair dries with moisture locked in your strands and a good leave-in will help combat frizziness
Cut back from Direct Heat such as blow-dryers and flat-irons- Try drying hair with a roller set, a wet wrap if your hair is freshly relaxed and detangled properly or air-drying
Day to Day Maintenance
Moisturize your strands when you feel you need to- I do this daily...but some people do every other day or 3 times a week. Remember, dry hair will cause breakage and split ends. You need to keep your hair moisturized at all times

Going to School in Canada!
I am so excited! In 2 months I'm going to be headed to Alberta, Canada! I've been accepted to Medicine Hat College. I'm going to be earning a certificate for Home Health Care. One of my biggest dreams is to make my 2nd home there. The people and the land are amazing. I've never been to a friendlier place. The climate is completely opposite of Texas, and I love it! I love that when I head out I'll be leaving almost 100 degree temperatures to SNOW! lol. I visited Edmonton a couple of years ago, and I was blown away by it. There were piles of snow that went over my head. It was great.
I'm getting ready to make the change. It's scary, but thrilling all in the same. I don't know what all will happen. Leaving a place I've known my entire life, to a new country. I can't wait! :D I know it may seem crazy to some to take a chance like this, but I know that conquering this dream will help me take better care of my family, and prove that anything is possible.
I am trying to raise funds to help with the schooling. If you'd like to help me please go here:
http://www.gofundme.com/schoolincanada.
I truly believe that anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it. I'm not saying that it's not normal to "freak out" or doubt yourself, but as long as we hit the off button on our negative thoughts we can do it. :D
Luv,
Teresa :)

I've Been Tagged: 7 Things
Aly from It Better Grow tagged me in the "7 things tag". If you haven't already checked out her blog..you should! It's very cute and keeps me engaged, so I'm sure it will do so for you too!
Basically for this tag you just have to list 7 random things about your self. This is a great way for others to know you a little better...so I hope you ALL enjoy! :-D
1.) I wear Black almost EVERY day- I'm not a "gloomy" or "gothic" person, I just love the color black. I always spice it up with colorful accessories, but black is my color of choice. I do have a lot of color in my closet though!
2.) I go back and forth about either starting my own business or getting my MBA- I would love to receive my Masters Degree before I turn 30 (I am now 25), but I also want to start my own business and feel like I don't need a Masters Degree to be a successful business owner. Most likely the MBA will win because I actually like school and it's always good to have something to fall back on. Although I am VERRRRY happy that I received professional experience after receiving my Bachelors.
3.) One of my biggest fears is being Broke- I save money like crazy just in case. (You should have at least 3 months (6 is ideal) of income in the bank just in case something were to happen)
4.) I LOVE to Dance- I don't care what kind of music is playing, you will see me dancing. Every morning I put on my Pandora and I dance while getting ready. When I go out...sometimes I am the only one in my group dancing...but I just can't help it!
5.) I have 2 Tattoos- 1 is Arabic Caligraphy saying "I Put my Trust in God" the other is my first initial with a crown on top (because I think I'm royalty--jk)
6.) Canada(more specifically my grandmothers(R.I.P) house) is my Second Home- As a child up until my preteens, my siblings and I spent every summer(2 months) in Canada with my Grandmother (& my aunt and uncle). I will continue to go there at least once a year for the rest of my life(God Willing)
7.) I want/need/would love to do LONG TERM Mission Trips- As soon as I have a certain amount of extra money, I plan on doing a mission trip in Haiti and different parts of Africa. God blessed me so I can bless others.
This is the part where I'm supposed to tag 7 other bloggers...but I'm not good at that. So I Tag ANYONE that hasn't done this yet.

Blog of Note: B.e.long
Hello there ladies! Meet Alicia from B.e.long.
I came across her blog about a week ago. She is one of my followers. From time to time, I go through and check out the blogs of my followers. Well in this case, I found a great blog! Alicia does very cute, urban and funky hairstyles. You will find lots of ideas on her blog!
1. How long have you been natural?
I've been natural my whole life! I've never relaxed my hair.
2. What inspired you to start a blog?
Well I was searching for a forum that provided different natural hair style ideas. I love wearing my hair in braids and updos, however, most blogs I came across only gave the typical braid outs, twist outs, puffs, etc. So I decided to start my own!
Well I've never made the conscious decision not to cut/trim my hair. I just don't do it...because its a hassle.
It's beautiful because that's how God made me. I love the versatility it offers! I can wear my hair big, I can braid it, curl it, straighten it; its just all around awesome!
You can expect to see hairstyles that I've done on my hair or friends' hair. I also include devotional thoughts that I have from time to time.

My Poor Edges!
My edges thinned out ladies! The main culprit could have been the braids I had in for 5 weeks. Well, not the braids per-say, but the fact that I didn't re-do the perimeter every 2 weeks(#Lazy!) like I should have which caused build-up and sadly, hair loss.
Here's my game plan:
Apply Castor Oil mixed with a few essential oils to my edges daily
Massage the Oil in for 5 minutes daily to increase blood stimulation
For Protective Styles, I will only do loose buns and twists
No Bonnets!
Make sure my scarf is NOT too tight and placed before my edges start
Don't stress it- because stress will only lead to more hair loss for me!
Starting Pics (Now I'm not sure if these are considered baby hairs or edges..but they look really thin to me)
So...with that being said...no braids for me for a little while, even cornrows, until I get these edges back in shape.

My hair
Straight From my Mailbox!
Everything I order is delivered to my job because I know I will get it right away!
Today, I received my Nexxus Headress Leave-in Conditioner.
Although my hair is somewhat thick..I want it to be THICKER!!!
Panthenol is one ingredient used in products that can help moisturize, strengthen and make hair thicker (or appear thicker..hey I'll take that too).
Nexxus Headress' second ingredient is Panthenol and I read so many good reviews about this product, so I purchased this last week on Amazon for $10.00.
I will use this every wash and get back to you with my review in a few months.
More about Panthenol (got this from LHCF)-
Panthenol (B5) binds well to hair follicles and attracts moisture from the air. Lubricates hair without feeling greasy. Also acts as a penetrating moisturizer. Plumps and moisturizes hair shaft to make it appear thicker, reduces split ends, smoothes skin and strengthens nails. Humectant like properties that promote moisture absorption. Can add strength and body to hair by filling cracks on the shaft firming up fiber.
More about Nexxus Headress-

Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser
As you can see, this is a non-related hair post...sorry ya'll!
I just wanted to RAVE about this product. I used this consistently in the past and I'm not sure why I stopped. Whenever I would get a pimple, I would dab some of this on it and leave it on overnight. The next morning, I would wash it off and the pimple would either be gone, dry out or shrink to a much smaller size. I would also use this as a full mask once a week and a cleanser.
Fast-forward 2 years
Last/this week, I was experiencing some small break-outs and I was thinking of ways to get rid of them. Now, I typically use Aveeno Positively Radiant facial cleanser and moisturizer, but I started to realize my skin looks REAL oily towards the middle of the day. I remembered that my skin reacted better to Neutrogena Products, so I went to target and browsed that section and saw my Beloved Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser. I purchased it right away!
Last night, I put some on each of my pimples and washed it off in the AM with the Aveeno. Low and behold, the pimples have shrunken and I'm pretty sure they will be gone by tomorrow! So, this is something I will never..ever switch out of my skin care regimen again!
I noticed that my skin reacts better to Benzoyl Peroxide and it HATES Salycilic Acid. I'm trying to figure out if I should use this as my only cleanser and ditch the Aveeno. I'll figure that out soon enough.
